How diagnosis, estimates, approval, payment, drop-off, and warranty work at our Holland shop.

Diagnostic fees

Standard diagnosis

$75

Check-engine lights, brakes, noises, leaks, cooling, AC/heat, suspension, and drivability problems.

Electrical diagnosis

$125

No-starts, dead batteries, charging, alternators, starters, wiring faults, and electrical accessories.

  • Paid at drop-off. The diagnostic fee is due when you drop off the car.
  • Credited when we do the repair. If you have us do the repair we diagnosed, the diagnostic fee comes off that bill. The credit applies only to that repair.
  • Due if you decline. If you choose not to have us do the repair, the diagnostic fee is still due — it covers the testing we did.
  • Extra testing only with your OK. Some come-and-go faults need more testing time than a standard diagnosis covers. If so, we explain why and get your approval first.

Estimates & approval

  1. 1

    We test the car

Prices on this website, from our calculators, or given before we see the car are general guides, not quotes.

  2. 2

We call you with a price

You get the repair price before any work. You can ask for the estimate in writing.

  3. 3

    You approve — or don't

Nothing is repaired until you say go. Sending a website form does not approve any work.

  4. 4

    No surprise add-ons

If we find something else, or the job will cost more than you approved, we stop and get your OK before going further.

  5. 5

    You get an itemized invoice

Parts and labor are listed. You can ask for your replaced parts back when you approve the repair (except parts returned for warranty or core credit).

Payment

  • Cash, check, and major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover).
  • Payment is due when the work is done, unless we set up something else ahead of time.
  • 15% military discount on labor for active-duty service members and veterans with valid ID. Mention it at drop-off. It cannot be combined with other discounts.

Drop-off

  • All work is done at 932 Holland Park Blvd, Holland, OH 43528. We do not offer mobile or roadside service.
  • Monday–Friday, 9 AM–6 PM. Closed weekends. Closed on Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter.
  • Call ahead for anything bigger than a quick check so we can hold a bay.
  • Please remove valuables and tell us about warning lights, past repairs, and add-on electronics.

Warranty

  • 1-year warranty on alternator and starter rebuilds. Keep your invoice, and ask us for the full terms when you approve the rebuild.
  • Other parts we install carry the part maker's warranty. Ask us for the terms on your repair.
  • Think something wasn't fixed right? Tell us within 30 days of pickup and we will re-inspect it at no charge.

Common questions

How much is a diagnosis?
A standard diagnosis is $75. An electrical diagnosis is $125. The fee pays for our time to actually test the car instead of guessing.
What counts as an electrical diagnosis?
No-start and slow-crank problems, batteries that keep dying, charging-system and alternator problems, starter problems, wiring faults, blown fuses, and power accessories that stop working. If you are not sure which one you need, call us and we will tell you before you drop off.
Is the diagnostic fee credited toward the repair?
Yes. The fee is paid at drop-off. If you have us do the repair we diagnosed, we credit it toward that bill. The credit applies only to the repair we diagnosed. If you decide not to have us do the repair, the diagnostic fee is still due.
Will you start work without asking me?
No. We call you with the price first and only start once you approve. If we find something else during the repair that would add cost, we stop and call you again before doing it.
Does sending a form or calculator result book my repair?
No. A website form, calculator result, or phone conversation before we see the car is not an appointment, a quote, or approval to do work. We confirm the time and price with you directly.
Can I get my old parts back?
Yes, just ask when you approve the repair. The exception is a part that has to go back to the supplier for a warranty claim or core return — we will tell you if that applies.
